Certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), this course prepares you for a career in the Civil Aviation Industry especially those interested in aircraft maintenance. Because this is an internationally certified course a student has the opportunity to work on live aircraft at an Aircraft Maintenance Organization either in Ghana or overseas.
What does it involve?
As an aircraft maintenance engineer, your work involves installing, maintaining, replacing, and repairing the air frame, engines, and other components on an aircraft, You may specialize in one or more disciplines of aircraft engineering including mechanical engineering, avionics engineering, and structures engineering. You may work on flight systems on one day and wing or fuselage materials on another.
Applicants will be required to go through testing and undergo a medical and security background check to be eligible for this course. Scholarship opportunities are available for the best candidates after the screening process.
Study Pathways
If you are looking for a career in the Civil Aviation Industry and are interested in aircraft maintenance, then this is the course for you. You will be working towards one of the industry’s most widely recognized qualification standards.
This is a four-year, full-time training program that includes a required experience period of two years working on live operational aircraft under strict supervision. The training program will teach you everything you need to know about aircraft maintenance and successful completion will guarantee you a job with Aerojet Aviation’s Engineering/MRO division.
During the course, you will learn the fundamentals of aviation mathematics and science in addition to aircraft aerodynamics, structures and systems for turbine engines, and Digital Communications among others.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Aptitude Tests :
After registration on our portal, you will be able to access and apply for your chosen training program directly. As part of the process, you will receive a link to complete a set of aptitude tests and assessments in order to determine your suitability for what you are applying for.
Please note that your assessment test may be used to apply for other programs on offer as long as you apply within 6 months.
Aerojet face-to-face interview and skill capability Assessment:
After a thorough review of your application and the completion of the required aptitude tests, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a face-to-face interview and assessment. This is the final step in the application process.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- You will be required to achieve a pass of 75% and above in each of the relevant modules and undergo over 2000 hours of hands-on training to achieve the required qualification including more than 90% attendance over the period,
- Aerojet will provide you with all personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of boots and uniform/clothing. Students will however be required to bring their own Pens, notebooks, drawing equipment, and a scientific calculator, to complete this course satisfactorily.
- Students will also be required to complete a police background check and a medical assessment at their own cost. Details for the test requirements will be provided once a candidate is selected in the final shortlist.
This course option allows for a bit more flexibility than the rigorous full-time four-year training program. With the modular training program, you can study at your own pace, by booking any of the EASA B1 or B2 Modules. Once you choose and pay for a selected course, you will receive the corresponding learning materials for that module, and be able to book the most convenient exam date of your choice using the scheduled exam slots available from our portal after your registration.
In addition, you will be able to book evening or weekend classroom tuition slots at your convenience and join some online info sessions for your selected module if one is organized in that period. You will also benefit from 2 to 3-hour handy tips and pre-exam brush-up sessions right before each exam for every module you book with us.
This option is ideal for candidates who may already be working full-time in a different industry and want to pursue a career in the aircraft maintenance industry while still working, or for non-licensed or trainee mechanics working with an airline but looking to obtain their EASA license while continuing to work with the airline.
The exam-only option is ideal for our customers who are very confident studying on their own and require no tuition support. Candidates for this, will usually get learning materials for the booked module and be able to book exam slots at their convenience using the scheduled exam slots available from our portal after registration. Students who book with us can benefit from some online info sessions for the modules they book as a complimentary addition to aid their exam preparation. The exam fee, learning materials and one online prep session are all included in the package.
